Mindfulness

Be mindful. Even if your mind is full.

At some point in life, many of you might have been advised or heard “Enjoy each moment As life is short”. Well, you may or may not give importance to the piece of advice received from well-wisher. However, that’s the most effective way to BE Healthy and WELL.

The excellent way to achieve your health goal, it could be it to lose weight, control emotions like anger, manage stress or be healthy overall.

Being in presence and experience & appreciate the moment is considered as : “MINDFULNESS”. It is like being completely aware of things happening at present and not being in auto pilot mode as most of us are currently living.  Being mindful is Knowing  or being aware of how you are feeling in present moment, trying to find out why you are feeling that emotion, being  aware of what you are doing & why you are doing, your  actions- eating, exercising, writing  talking walking etc.

Awareness and Acceptance are two basic foundations of Mindfulness

 Mindfulness practice significantly influence:
Development of behaviours
Changes to Awareness- improved leadership effectiveness
Mindfulness also enhances
Cognitive functions
Emotional intelligence
Tolerance – understanding others

To Practice mindfulness can be challenging in today’s demanding & fast modern life, as in general we appreciate how fast and how much we can do at once.  However, being mindful is within anyone’s reach.

Throughout the day you can be mindful – while answering queries or e-mails, waiting in a queue, in traffic, taking a walk or eating food. All it needs is to be  aware- of your breath, thoughts, feelings, feet on ground, people, nature, and voices around you. Once you start to become more mindful, you will start noticing- how mind wonders and focuses on past and future. Acknowledge the thoughts and return to present – that’s all.

Practicing Meditation and journaling (Mindful journaling is writing- expressing your thoughts feelings on paper) are ways of being mindful.

Weight loss

“Mindfulness can help people achieve and maintain a healthy weight” – says scientific researchers. People watch TV, use mobile while they eat or having snack, without really being aware of how much they are eating or calorie consumption. However, eating when you’re hungry, focusing on each bite, enjoying your food more, what and how much you  are eating,  food taste, texture, and stop when you’re full is being mindful and that helps greatly reduce weight.
Mindfulness is something that occurs naturally and benefits of its available when we practice on daily basis.
